A man has died after a weekend disturbance in an Aberdeen flat.
Aleksejus Zarskus, 42, was taken to hospital after being found seriously injured in his King Street flat on Sunday night – but died on Thursday as a result of his injuries.
Two men aged 32 and 30 were detained at the scene and appeared in court on Tuesday.
The incident took place in a flat at 684 King Street, Aberdeen.
Detective Inspector Gary Winter, from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was an isolated and contained incident and at no point was there any threat to any other member of the public.
“Our thoughts are with Mr Zarskus’s family and friends at this difficult time. We would like to hear from anyone who knew Aleksejus Zarskus or anyone who was aware of a disturbance at 684 King Street, Aberdeen, just after 10pm on Sunday night.
“Anyone with information can speak to an officer or call Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
