The incident happened in the Mugiemoss Court area of the city, at about 8.15pm on December 29. Iona Townsley, 19, and Margaret Townsley, 48, are accused of seriously assaulting and permanently disfiguring a 38-year-old woman. The pair, who are both from Lesmahagow, South Lanarkshire, made no plea or declaration at the city’s sheriff court yesterday. They have both been released on bail and are expected to appear in court within a week.
