A pensioner was pulled to the ground and robbed in an Aberdeen supermarket car park.
Police said the 72-year-old woman was in the car park at Morrisons on King Street, yesterday when the robbery took place.
She was approached by a man as she was loading her shopping into a car. She was pulled to the ground as the man grabbed her purse, which was in her hand, and ran off with it in the direction of West North Street.
The incident happened at around 1.10pm.
Detective Inspector Allen Shaw said: “This is an absolutely despicable robbery of a woman at what would have been a busy time of the day. Thankfully she has sustained fairly minor injuries but is understandably extremely upset by the ordeal.
“I would ask that anyone who has information or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time contacts police as soon as possible on 101.”
The male responsible is described as white, in his 20s, around 5’6 – 5’8 in height and was wearing a jacket described as dark coloured on the lower half with a lighter upper half and hood, light coloured trousers and dark footwear.
