The collision, between a black Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Suzuki, happened on the B9107 Inverallochy road, Inverallochy, at about 10.40pm. Police, fire crews and the ambulance service all responded to the incident, about four miles east of Fraserburgh. Two appliances from Fraserburgh, with 12 firefighters on board, were called to the scene. They helped free a 65-year-old man from his car. He was later taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be checked over but was not believed to be seriously hurt. The other driver was uninjured.
