An application to allow a kennel business to operate on the site of a former puppy farm has been deferred to allow planners to gather more information.
Michelle Wood wants to use five “modular” buildings on the property at East Mains of Ardlogie, near Fyvie, to keep dogs. A one-year temporary permission expired in October.
Aberdeenshire Council planners had recommended the scheme for approval despite receiving a petition signed by more than 7,500 people objecting to the proposal.
Senior planners have previously explained that the fresh application – which could lead to the owners being granted a dog breeding licence – complies with planning regulations.
But last month members of the Formartine area committee deferred the application for a site visit, and were due to make a decision yesterday.
However, planners withdrew the report at the start of the meeting to allow them more time to gather more information.
