A 23-year-old woman has died following a one-vehicle collision which also involved a baby.
Emergency crews were called to a “serious” one-vehicle crash on the A92 Inverbervie to Kineff road earlier today.
The A92 between Kinneff and Inverbervie was closed by police shortly after the incident at 11am.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A 13-month-old child also travelling in the car was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. however the child is not believed to have been injured.
It is understood no other vehicles were involved.
A section of the A92 between Inverbervie and Kinneff is currently closed.
A spokesman for the police said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following a road traffic collision on the A92 this morning at around 11am that a 23-year-old female has sadly died.
“A 13-month-old baby whch was also in the vehicle was taken to ARI with minor injuries. The road remains closed and inquires are at an early stage.”
Earlier today a spokesman for the fire brigade said: “We are at a one vehicle RTC near Inverbervie. The police and ambulance service are also in attendance. Two persons are involved.”
