A cyclist is in serious condition today after a crash on a north-east road.
The incident, which also involved a silver Subaru Impreza, happened at around 11.55am on Saturday morning.
Shielhill Road, an unclassified route between the B997 Scotstown Road and the B999 Potterton Road, was closed for around six hours while inquiries were carried out.
A 56-year-old man, who was wearing a yellow rucksack and was travelling on a white racing-type bike, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Sergeant Steve Milne of Aberdeen Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw this collision, or who saw similar vehicles in the area at the time, to come forward and let us know.
“This investigation is still at an early stage and witnesses are key to help us understand what happened.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101.”
