The north and north-east of Scotland will be battered by wind and snow this week as Storm Doris hits the UK.
The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for wind, which is expected to hit Grampian, the Highlands and Islands and Orkney and Shetland tomorrow.
Gales of up top 80mph are expected to start hitting the Northern Isles and north coast around 3am tomorrow, this may cause disruption to some transport links such as ferry services between the Scottish mainland and Orkney and Shetland.
A yellow snow warning has also been issued for Thursday.
Snow is expected to fall in west Aberdeenshire, the west Highlands and much of the central belt and Scotland’s west coast.
It is anticipated snow will start falling around 2am on Thursday with accumulations of 10cm in the hills, while around 5cm of snow is expected in lowland areas.
The snowfall is expected to ease around 6pm on Thursday, but strong winds of between 50 and 60mph could cause blizzards and snow drifts in some areas.
