Funding of £2million will be used to clean up one of Aberdeen’s busiest streets – Union Street.
We asked members of the public what they would spend the money on.
“What the street needs is more shops and to open up some of the sites which are empty.”
Magnus Birch, 34, financial services, Newmachar.
“I would like to see some of the empty buildings brought back into use rather than building new ones. It would be good to have some more restaurants and coffee shops.”
Saara Duguid, 42, legal secretary, City centre.
“What it needs is more shops and more restaurants.”
Kaye Calder, 49, support worker, Northfield.
“The money should be used to give people a reduction in business rates, it’s the only thing they can do. If they can’t do that, they should give new shops grants to help them set up.”
Andrew Smith, 33, oil and gas, Midstocket.
