The crews were alerted to the blaze, on School Road, Seaton, at about 12.15pm. A spokesman for the fire service had confirmed the resident of the property had left their stove unattended and the smoke alarm had been set off. Two appliances, with nine firefighters on board, were sent to the scene and had extinguished the flames a short time later.
