Police have appealed for witnesses after a pensioner had her purse stolen.
The incident, which has been described as “despicable” by officers, took place in Rosemount Place at noon yesterday.
The suspect chatted to the 86-year-old woman before he snatched her purse.
Sergeant Brian Hutchison said: “This is a despicable theft of a purse from an elderly woman. She was not injured in any way but is understandably upset by the incident.”
The culprit is in his 30s, about 5ft 10ins tall and clean shaven.
He was wearing a dark jacket with black hooded top underneath, purple beanie hat and a thick scarf around his neck.
