A north-east cancer charity has made a fresh appeal for volunteers in the Mearns.
Clan Cancer Support is appealing to locals keen for a “new challenge” to get in touch as it strives to expand its outreach services in communities across the region.
Volunteers are required in a number of different areas – from support roles to assisting with events and fundraising efforts.
People are being sought in Laurencekirk, Portlethen and Stonehaven in particular.
Support volunteers provide emotional assistance, information and signposting within Clan.
Fundraisers will help increase awareness of the charity and help out the Friends of Clan with events.
Clan’s Aberdeenshire area co-ordinator, Gemma Powell, said: “Clan is committed to providing wellbeing and support services, free of charge, in the heart of communities for anyone affected by cancer, including those across the Mearns area.
“By growing our team of dedicated volunteers, we aim to further develop our services as the needs of our clients change.
“Clan volunteers are provided with full training and many comment it is one of the most rewarding experiences they have had.”
Anyone keen to volunteer should call 07720 737497.
