A north-east police officer who was involved in a car crash earlier this week is in a stable condition.
Constable George Shearer was on duty in a marked police van when it was involved in a collision on the Peterhead to Ellon road on Tuesday night.
The 46-year-old, who worked as a dog handler, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with head injuries and was described as being in a critical condition.
However, an NHS Grampian spokeswoman has confirmed his condition has improved.
She said: “He is now in a stable condition.”
Another MoD police officer was the other driver in the crash and is also in a stable condition.
