A fish and chip shop in Aberdeen that was left devastated by a fire more than a year ago will reopen within weeks.
Sea Salt and Sole on Station Road in Dyce was destroyed in a blaze in November, 2015.
The family-run business had been shortlisted as a best newcomer at the National Fish And Chip Awards just before the blaze.
But owner, Rikki Pirie, had to put his bid for the top accolade on hold to rebuild his chipper from the ground up.
And now, after many months of reconstruction, the business owner is hoping to start serving the people of Dyce their fish suppers once again within weeks.
The 37-year-old said: “Progress has been really good, our fryers have arrived from Holland so we’re really close to opening up – it’s just the finishing touches.
“A lot of folk are really excited, they’ve been stopping us in the street and wishing us well, and messaging us on social media, a lot of people can’t wait for us to get going again.
“It’s motivated us a lot to get moving as quickly as possible.”
Mr Pirie also revealed his business will be able to pick up where it left off, and will be nominated once again for the National Fish And Chip Awards.
He said: “We’re going to be put forward into the newcomer category again, which is fantastic.
“We can’t wait to put this all behind us. It’s been horrible, but the whole experience has made us stronger.”
