A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an alleged fire-raising incident at a north-east restaurant.
Yesterday, the owner of the Inverurie-based Fennel Restaurant reached out on social media following a fire at the back of the property on Sunday evening.
Shocked by the incident, William Bird offered to employ the alleged fire-raisers if they came forward.
However, a youth has now been charged in relation to the incident. The teenage boy will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit.
Local Sergeant Sandra Crighton said: “I would like to thank members of the community for their information and help with this particular investigation.
“Our inquiries are continuing and I would urge any further witnesses or anyone with additional information which they think could help to please contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous.
“In particular, if you saw any other youths in the area around the time in question please let us know.”
