One of the north-east’s best-known restaurants has closed. The Carron Restaurant in Stonehaven first opened in June 1937, and has changed hands many times over the years. The category B-listed building is one of the few remaining examples of art deco design in the north-east of Scotland. However, the business’s current management have announced that The Carron will now be closing down. In a statement, the management said: “It is with deep regret that we are having to announce the closure of The Carron Restaurant. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers over the past two years for all of your support. “If there is anyone with itison vouchers still to be redeemed, we have spoken with the itison team and you can contact them directly for a refund.”
