Police say a fire at a Cove Home last night was started deliberately.
Emergency services were first called out to the blaze Redwood Crescent at around 9:50pm.
After a joint investigation with the fire service, officers now believe the fire was suspicious.
Local Inspector Steve McEwan said: “Thankfully no one was home at the time, but it goes without saying that the consequences could have been devastating. You don’t know how a fire will develop and you put lives at risk.”
“I would appeal to anyone with information about this incident to please get in touch. In particular we would like to speak to anyone who saw a group of young boys in the area in the lead-up to the fire being reported.
“You may have vital information which could assist.
“Anyone with information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
“I can assure the public behaviour like this will not be tolerated.”
