Police are hunting a man who threatened a shop worker during a robbery in the north-east’s biggest town.
Officers have appealed for information after the incident at the Premier shop in Peterhead’s Marischal Street yesterday afternoon.
Police received a report of a robbery at the convenience store around 2.30pm. It is understand the thief did not brandish a weapon.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Thomson said: “The worker was not hurt or injured in any way, but it would have obviously been an extremely unsettling experience.
“The area would no doubt have been busy at the time, so I would urge anyone with information about a man in his thirties who was seen leaving the shop in the direction of Gadle Braes to please contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
DS Thomson added: “We are following a positive line of inquiry, however I would still ask anyone with information – no matter how insignificant you think it might be – to get in touch.”
Officers are still working to establish what was stolen from the shop.
