This video shows the moment a huge blaze engulfed the edge of a north-east woodlands.
Firefighters took almost four hours to bring the moorland blaze on the fringes of Clashindarroch Forest, west of Rhynie, after it broke out last night at about 9.30pm.
The incident took place near the A941 Rhynie to Dufftown road at Cowford Bridge.
Two fire appliances were calling in from Huntly, along with one from Keith and another from Insch. Specialist vehicles were also called to the scene.
Firefighters have been credited with stopping the spread of the flames to the woodlands itself.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “It was a secondary fire, it came into us at 9.34pm. It was a fire on the moorland there, we were using beaters and knapsacks.
“The stop message came in at 10.08pm, but we remained on scene until approximately 1.11am damping down.
“There was Huntly, Keith and Insch there. There was specialist appliances as well.”
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
A police spokeswoman said the blaze was not treated as suspicious.
