A man has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a north-east crash.
Emergency services were called to the A98 Banff to Cullen road at Portsoy just before 4.50pm after reports of a crash involving a blue Ford Focus and silver Renault Clio.
A section of the road has been closed.
A police spokesman said:”Emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on the A98 near Portsoy.
“The two-vehicle collision was reported to Police Scotland at 4.50pm today and happened approximately one mile east of Portsoy.
“The road is currently closed and is expected to be for some time.
“Traffic from Portsoy is being diverted down the B9022 to the junction of the A95 through Cornhill towards the junction with the A98 and reverse for traffic from Banff.
“The Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance.
“One person has been taken to ARI by air ambulance with serious injuries and another person has been taken to ARI with injuries that are not believed to be serious.”
