Officers who attended a double murder in Aberdeen have been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Tracy Gabriel and Keith Taylor were stabbed to death by Hugh Gallacher at Tillydrone’s Donside Court on July 19 last year.
Witnesses described seeing Gallacher, 56, falling to his death from the 12th floor flat shortly after officers arrived on the scene.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner later launched an investigation into the force’s handling of the incident.
The inquiry would “focus on the circumstances leading up to the man’s death following the arrival of officers”.
However, a report submitted to the Crown Office today said no charges would be made against any member of the force following the investigation.
A Crown Office spokesman said: “After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, the procurator fiscal concluded that no further investigation is required.
“We have contacted families of the deceased and offered a meeting to discuss the matter.”
