A large-scale search was launched after a man went missing in Aberdeen.
The search, which involved armed police, was sparked at about 1pm after a 23-year-old man left his house, causing his family concern.
Police scoured the Hazlehead and the Craigiebuckler areas of the city for several hours but he later returned home of his own accord.
Officers have said he was “safe and well”.
Police Scotland wrote on their Facebook: “You may notice an increased police presence in the area and we ask for your patience while we deal with the incident.”
They added there was nothing to suggest there is any threat to the public.
