Plans lodged for Aberdeen shopping centre expansion

Plans for an expansion of an Aberdeen city shopping centre have been launched.
The proposal would see new retail and food and drink spaces being opened to the north of the Bon Accord Centre.
The plans would also see the Santander and Co-op buildings on George Street being demolished to make way for the development.
As part of the proposal, a hotel with up to 170 bedrooms and up to 50 residential flats could be built.
BMO Real Estate Partners, the company which owns the Bon Accord and St Nicholas Centres said the expansion will “create a new and inviting destination within the city, with its own character and appeal”.
The plan would also see changes made to George Street and Loch Street, which would “provide a more welcoming and pedestrian-friendly environment.”
