The Care Inspectorate has praised Aberdeenshire Council’s support for sheltered housing tenants.
The team supports 1,500 sheltered housing tenants across the north-east.
And following a recent inspection, the service has received grades of five (very good) which is the second highest grade, for care, support and staffing.
Head of housing Rob Simpson said: “I would like to thank the service and all employees for their continued hard work in making sure people living in sheltered housing in
Aberdeenshire are provided with the highest standard of care and support.
“This excellent inspection report highlights the dedication of all our employees who routinely go above and beyond to help people maintain happy and healthy independent lives.”
During the inspection housing tenants expressed a “high degree of satisfaction” with the service and spoke positively about employees.
The Care Inspectorate also observed that employees appeared relaxed and friendly with tenants. It was clear they knew tenants and their particular situations well.
There was evidence of tenant led activities and meetings taking place and it was very clear that the sheltered housing service applied a consistent and appropriate approach.
