Ashley Road School is one of the 37 Aberdeen schools that do not have a crossing patroller.
It has been without a crossing patroller since the beginning of this year.
One mother, who did not wished to be named, described the figures across the city as “shocking”.
She has a son in primary four and a daughter at nursery and is deeply concerned about children walking to school without a crossing patroller because of how busy the roads around the school are.
She said: “It is really worrying because we have to cross Ashley Road everyday and that road in particular is very busy.
“Whilst I walk my children to school there are other children who walk themselves and it’s just not a great place to cross the road.
“It does sound extreme to say it but I do think that children’s lives are at risk, because there are children not much older than my eight-year-old son who walk to school themselves. The roads around Ashley Road are so busy if they are not paying
attention I would say that their lives are at risk.
“When my son started at Ashley Road there was a crossing patroller at the back and the front of the school.
“Now we have lost both now which is very disappointing.”
