Police are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted in a north-east village.
The 16-year-old boy sustained facial injuries in the attack which occurred just after midnight on Friday, April 7 into Saturday, April 8 at the bus stop at School Road, Newburgh.
Officers particularly want to speak to a group of males who took the last bus from Newburgh heading north around 12.10am.
Investigating Officer Constable Scott Dowie said: “We are aware that there was a beach party in Newburgh that evening where there would have been a large number of youths looking to get the last bus home.
“We need to speak to anyone who got that bus or was in the vicinity around the time the assault took place.
“The north-east is a safe place to live with a good level of community spirit. As such anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and patrols will continue to tackle the issue.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
