Two local charities are looking for teams to take part in the north-east’s very own version of The Apprentice.

Absafe and AFC Community Trust are joining forces to hold ‘The ABrentice’, where teams will compete to turn £50 in to as much money as possible for the charities.

Participating teams will receive help from local business experts, as they try to raise money for two causes.

Representatives from AFC Community Trust will help with business development, while Absafe will provide help with media relations, marketing and legal support.

The official launch will take place at Pittodrie Stadium on Monday 24 April, where teams can meet the advisors and discuss fundraising ideas.

Victoria McMillan, Absafe’s Community fundraising manager said: “We want people to really get their teeth into The ABrentice – it’s aimed to bring people together to help raise funds for two great causes.

“The BBC show highlights how competitive teams can get when under pressure, we won’t be doing any hiring or firing, we just want teams to have fun and show us what they’re made of.

“The teams will have access to some top advisors who’ll be on hand to help – these guys are the best in the business, so we want our teams to contact us with any questions for our own versions of Karren Brady and Claude Littner.”

Teams of up to five people can be formed and the competition will run for five weeks, starting on May 1.
