VIDEO: The moment gang tried to blow up Aberdeen ATM – and failed

This is the moment a gang tried to blow up an ATM in Aberdeen – and failed.

The footage was released as Police Scotland hailed the sentence given to the men behind the heist – a collective 92 years in total.

The series of ATM raids took place between 2015 and 2016 and cash machines were targetted in Kingswells, Aberdeen; Newtonhill, Aberdeenshire; Carnoustie, Angus; and Perth.

 

The CCTV footage is from the Kingwells incident and shows the failed explosion and the group’s efforts to extract the ATM using cutting equipment.
