Hoodles playbarn at Oldmeldrum has suffered a drop in its grading after a review of its service by the Care Inspectorate.
An unannounced inspection was carried out last month, which saw Hoodles assessed and graded in four key areas: quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and quality of management and leadership.
In the first two categories, they were ranked as good, but were only graded as adequate in the last two.
This is a significant drop from the last time they were graded in March 2014 – where they were deemed to be very good in all four.
Hoodles also received an inspection last March, but they were not graded on that occasion.
Following the assessment, Hoodles released a statement, which argued: “This is a positive report which detailed children are nurtured and well cared for.
“We continually strive to improve practice and any area for improvement is being addressed.”
Education Scotland also sent out a letter, responding to the report.
It said: “Since the last inspection, a number of improvements have been made. These improvements are still ongoing and more time and support is required to ensure full impact on children’s learning and progress.”
