The new feature will be located on the Hazlehead leisure complex, on the redeveloped pitch and putt course. It is hoped that the joint project between Aberdeen FC Community Trust and Sport Aberdeen will encourage people to be more active. Footgolf is a cross between football and golf – and there are currently 10 courses across Scotland. Players are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing, and to bring an easily identifiable ball. But players should not wear studded football boots, to protect the course. Councillor Martin Greig, who represents the area welcomed the proposal, and added that Hazlehead is the “perfect location” for the course. Information on launch dates and how to book will be published by Sport Aberdeen when details are confirmed.
