The Sir Ian Wood building in Garthdee and Marischal College in the city centre were lit up with purple lights this week to mark stroke awareness month.
Every May, the Stroke Association charity aims to highlight the condition through a month of community involvement.
The charity’s purple colours have also been shone on other Scottish landmarks, such as Ness Bridge in Inverness, the Kelpies in Falkirk, the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and Dundee House.
Andrea Cail, director of the Stroke Association in Scotland said: “Stroke happens in an instant and changes people’s lives forever.
“It is Scotland’s third biggest killer, and a leading cause of disability.”
