Police have concluded that no crime was committed early on Monday morning on a city centre street.
Carmelite Lane was cordoned off for a great deal of time on Monday after reports that a woman had been assaulted.
However, officers have now confirmed that no further investigations will be required.
A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a report of an assault in the Carmelite Lane area of Aberdeen during the early hours on Monday, May 1 is now complete and it has established that no crime was committed.
“Officers would like to thank the community for cooperating with police while inquiries were carried out.”
