The Home Delivery Awards also unearthed some incredibly emotional stories and highlighted delivery agents who have faced challenges in their own life.
The Press & Journal paid tribute to 14-year-old Brenna Collie, who was recognised for Courage over Adversity.
The fact that Brenna, who is from Strichen, was able to collect her award at all is remarkable in itself – after she suffered from a stroke which left her needing intense recuperation.
Although Brenna can no longer carry out her round, she may still return to it in the future after spending only six weeks in recovery.
She and her family’s dedication went beyond the call of duty after her father carried out her round on the day she was taken to hospital.
She said: “I don’t know when I’ll be able to go back to delivering newspapers, but I found it really enjoyable.
“I loved chatting to people and I delivered papers for nearly two years, so I hope to get back to it eventually.”
