A snake that went missing in Aberdeen on Sunday is still believed to be at large in the city centre.
Zapora, the 11-year-old Royal Python managed to give her owner the slip during a party in the Crown Street area after someone borrowed her to impress other guests.
Owner, Scott Riley has been looking for his pet since the early hours of Sunday and now fears the worst.
He said: “I just want to know what has happened to her. If she is dead or alive, I just want to know.”
Police issued an appeal to the public, highlighting the fact the snake was not harmful and is non-venomous.
A Scottish SPCA spokesperson yesterday added: “Snakes are excellent escape artists, so it is important owners ensure their vivariums are completely secure.
“Snakes need heat and can’t survive for long outside in the cold. However, it is possible a snake would manage to survive for a long time inside a wall cavity, provided it is able to feed and there is a source of heat.”
