Hundreds of people took to the streets of an Aberdeenshire market town to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The 8th Inverurie Twilight Walk followed a 10km route through the town’s streets and raised £21,000 along the way for the charity.
One of the event organisers, Angie Shearer, said it had been a great success and added: “To have 500 people give up their time every year to join us for the Twilight Walk is incredible.
“We greatly appreciate the community’s support and we were extremely lucky with the weather again this year. On the night, there was a fantastic buzz and community spirit.”
Walkers were treated to a glass of fizz at the half-way mark, courtesy of Fennel and were subsequently entertained at the finish line with live music and cupcakes provided by JG Ross bakery.
Graeme Ross added: “Well done to Angie and her team for another fantastic evening. The Twilight Walk successfully combines raising funds for a disease that sadly affects so many with a highly enjoyable event attended by friends, families, work colleagues and neighbours.
“We are proud to sponsor and participate in the Twilight Walk. If you have never done it, make a diary note to register for 2018, you will be glad you did.”
