The transformation of a derelict public toilet into a cafe could be back on the cards.
Councillors threw out plans to convert the ex-convenience in Old Aberdeen when they were first submitted.
Now applicants hope a revised proposal will overcome objections to the use of “inappropriate materials” in the historic area.
Developer Harry Miller, of Ferryhill, bought the dilapidated restrooms in 2015 with an idea to give them a new lease of life.
Planning officers recommended the project for approval.
But members of the local authority’s planning development and management committee voted eight to seven in December in favour of refusing the application.
Many complaints revolved around the modern building materials, including aluminium, being out of place in the historic area of the city.
The Old Aberdeen Community Council, Aberdeen Civic Society and the Old Aberdeen Heritage Society all raised objections against the scheme at the time.
