A scam artist has been given a third chance to begin to make repayments to a man she tricked into giving her more than £14,000.
Charlotte Roche duped a Matthew Pilgrim, who she met through an online dating site into giving her money for “treatment and post-operative care.”
He gave her £14,320 and last July she was ordered to repay it at a rate of £1,000 a month last July.
However she was jailed the for three months in August for stealing more than £3,000 from the John Clark BMW dealership in Aberdeen.
She appeared in the city’s sheriff court in October, December and again yesterday over her failure to repay any of the fine.
Sheriff Christine McCrossan told her she would have to begin to make payments soon.
She said: “This cannot go on indefinitely – the circumstances have changed since the order was made and we have to be realistic.
“I will delay the matter for another month to give you the chance to find employment – if there is no difference then I will look at a community payback order as an alternative.”
Roche will return to Aberdeen Sheriff Court on June 16.
