Police were embroiled in a four-hour stand-off with a wanted man today after he climbed on to the roof of an Aberdeen bakery.
The man, who had a warrant out for his arrest, climbed on to the roof of the Gordon Bakery on Langstane Place around 11.25am.
Police spent the next four hours trying to convince him to come down from the roof as he shouted and gestured at onlookers.
An area between the junctions of Dee Street and Bon Accord Street were closed off and a white sheet put up to minimise the amount people could see of the scene.
He was eventually convinced to come down from the building around 4pm after fire crews tried to use their height vehicles to gain better access to his position.
He was then arrested and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.
Inspector Ian McKinnon said: “This was an isolated incident involving one man and at no time was there any risk to the wider public. We would like to thank the community for their patience while the incident was dealt with.”
The roads have now re-opened.
