Police are appealing for information following a serious assault at a block of flats in Aberdeen last night.
The incident happened in the communal stairwell of the George Street building at about 8.10pm.
A 29-year-old man sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “Anyone who was in the George Street area, near Charles Street, or the West North Street area and saw three men around the time of the incident is asked to come forward and speak to us.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote reference 3895 of 19/05 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
