A man has been charged with serious assault following an alleged incident at a block of flats in Aberdeen on Friday.
A 29-year-old man was allegedly attacked in the communal stairwell on George Street on Friday night at about 8.30pm.
He was subsequently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries but has since been released.
A 33-year-old man has now been charged and is expected appear at the city’s sheriff court tomorrow.
Last night police appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “Our enquiries into this incident are continuing and I would urge anyone who was in the George Street area, near Charles Street, or the West North Street area and saw three men around the time of the incident to come forward.”
