An Aberdeen man has been banned from driving for 18 months after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city and smashing into cars.
Derek Paterson was instructed by officers to pull over at 10.30pm on March 11 this year but refused to do so.
He hit speeds of 60mph as he drove through Howes Drive, Howes Crescent, Provost Rust Drive, Springhill Road, Cruden Place and Davidson Place.
Police eventually found him after he had crashed into a fence.
The 43-year-old refused to give a sample of breath when taken to Kittybrewster Police Station.
He appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday for sentencing.
Representing him defence agent Neil McRobert said: “My client accepts full responsibility for this and pleaded guilty at his last appearance in court.”
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin ordered him to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 18 months.
