Schools across the north have faced a battle to remain open today as heavy rain and flooding batters the region.
Four schools in the north-east and three more in Moray have so far had to turn away pupils and staff due to difficult travel conditions and torrential rain.
Meanwhile, parents of children travelling to Inverurie Academy have been warned the school bus will need to take a longer route this morning due to localised flooding.
Pick up times are likely to be largely unaffected, although the bus may be slightly delayed in reaching the last few stops and in arriving to school.
