A number of people have been evacuated after large scale flooding in a north-east town.
It’s believed as many as five residents have been taken out of their homes by the emergency services after reports of high waters at Portsoy this morning.
The fire service were called at around 8am to Soy Avenue nearby to a care home.
And the service is considering also starting operations in Seafeild Street due to the flooding.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We sent one appliance from Portsoy and another from Turriff after the call came at 8am.
“They are trying to locate a storm drain to alleviate the flooding. “
