A mother and her 11-year-old daughter escaped a blaze at their flat in Mastrick this evening.
The fire, thought to be started by a tea light, took hold just before 7pm at the Tay Road flat. Two fire crews, police and the ambulance service attended the scene.
Both casualties were treated in the back of the ambulance for smoke inhalation but did not require hospital treatment.
Fire crews could be seen last night clearing charred belongings through the second-floor flat’s bedroom window.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “We were called to a flat fire on Tay Road at 6.50pm. The fire was extinguished and all the people inside got out safely.” The crews left the scene at 9.10pm.
