A 12-year-old boy has been charged after being found with a knife on board an Aberdeenshire school bus.
Police say it happened in the Mearns area at around 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
Due to the age of the youngster, the name of the school cannot be confirmed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 12 year old boy has been charged in relation to an incident in the Mearns area that occurred at around 3.30pm on Monday, June 12, 2017.
“A report will be sent to the Youth Justice Management Unit.”
A spokeswoman for Aberdeenshire Council declined to comment.
