A woman has died in hospital after being involved in a collision with an articulated lorry on a busy Aberdeen road.
Helen Livingstone, of the Altens area, was struck on the northbound carriageway of Wellington Road, outside the Lidl supermarket, on Monday.
Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene, which was just yards from the pedestrian crossing at Balnagask Road.
The 81-year-old had been freed from under the lorry by firefighters and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours, with traffic being diverted on to Abbotswell Road, causing lengthy delays for motorists.
A police statement said: “We can confirm that the 81-year-old woman who was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry on Wellington Road at around 10.10am on Monday has sadly died in hospital.
“She died yesterday and has been named as Helen Livingstone, of the Altens area.”
