An Aberdeen man has pleaded guilty to a string of child porn offences.
Police found 670 images and 44 videos on five different devices when they raided Gordon Yates’ flat in Willowpark Crescent, Aberdeen.
The 25-year-old’s haul included 36 Category A images, depicting the most serious child sex abuse committed against babies and youngsters up to the age of 15, and 22 Category A videos.
Three hours and three minutes of footage included sexual acts being performed on children either by adult males or sex toys. He also had bestiality porn.
At Aberdeen Sheriff Court, fiscal depute Laura Begg said: “The search history was also examined and terms were entered into Google including ‘brother forcing little sister into sex’, ‘children naked’ and ‘little boys in their birthday suits’.
“Another laptop was found containing 39 indecent images including one Category A. That image featured five-year-old girls.
“An Xbox was found to contain 10 indecent images, and an iPhone was found to have another two. The images had been copied from other devices.
“He was interviewed and admitted that he was the only user of these devices and admitted responsibility.”
Yates pleaded guilty to taking or permitting to take indecent images, possession of indecent images and possession of extreme pornographic images.
Defence agent Gail Goodfellow said: “He has no previous convictions. He is a single man, is unemployed and is registered disabled. He hasn’t worked for two years due to a bowel condition.”
Sheriff Graham Napier said: “A custodial sentence is uppermost in my mind.”
He deferred Yates’ sentence until July 31 for criminal justice social work reports. Yates was granted bail on the condition that he has no contact with anyone under the age of 16 apart from his nephew.
