A flood alert has been issued across the north-east this evening because of heavy rainfall across the region.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has created an amber flood warning for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and has warned residents living close to water and in low lying areas to remain vigilant.
A spokesman for SEPA said: “Heavy showers are likely to affect the south of the area during Wednesday evening.
“There is a risk of flooding from surface water and smaller watercourses.
“Flooding of low lying areas, roads and isolated properties is possible.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
“Advice is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.”
