Police cordon off Aberdeen street after man assaulted

Police launched an investigation after a man was assaulted in a city centre street.

Police were called to St John’s Place, off Crown Street, following a “disturbance” at around 3.40pm yesterday.

The street was sealed off by police and remained closed for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesman said a man had been assaulted.

He added: “Further inquiries are ongoing, it came in as a disturbance.”
