A north-east food bank which has desperately appealed for supplies to support vulnerable local people has now launched a fundraising campaign to keep its doors open.
Daniel’s Place is a charity based in Banff which works to support local people in need.
The organisation has three shops across Banff and neighbouring Macduff as well as a full-time food bank.
Last week, aid workers – who offer three-day food parcels to families in the surrounding area – made a desperate appeal for food donations.
And now, the Daniel’s Place team has launched an online fundraising page with a target of £1,000.
A spokeswoman for the organisation said: “Daniel’s Place is a small charity that helps people in need within the Macduff, Banff and surrounding rural area.
“We are having an overwhelming response to opening our food bank earlier this year, and we are struggling to keep up with the demand.
“We are raising these much-needed funds to ensure we can continue this service to the local community.”
Monies raised will be used to restock supplies which run out regularly, including such items as tinned meals, UHT milk and hygiene products.
Demand for parcels in the area is high and Daniel’s Place staff have distributed 220 since January.
The food bank in Duff Street is open to drop off donations of money or food supplies between 10am-4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
